The leather art panels were created for many different reasons, some of which were very personal; some are for public spaces. There are recurring themes, however, that are a constant thread.

Magic and mystical moons feature in John's earlier work for Freya, the McConomy exhibition stand at the Paris Leather Fair and the "awe inspiring" changing room dividers for Ace, "to protect the likes of Joan Collins and Mick Jagger from prying eyes."

Mosaic and traditional quilting patterns are used in panels for walls and bedspreads, as well as pictures for the Coach Collection of Leather Arts, NY. Natural rhythms found in wood grain form seat panels and water reflections create artwork panels for the new Hilton Diagonal Barcelona.

They are made from stitched pieces of tanned coloured leathers. The separate pieces are interpreted from the original artwork and sketches.
